Aspen Earthworks is seeking a Project Engineer to support project execution across
civil construction and site development projects, while developing into a future Project
Manager. This is a high-growth, hands-on role responsible for supporting coordination,
documentation, tracking, and field alignment.
The Project Engineer works closely with project managers, superintendents, and field
teams and plays a key role in keeping projects organized, informed, and moving
forward.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination & Support

  • Support Project Managers in day-to-day project execution

  • Assist with planning, coordination, and tracking of project activities

  • Help align field operations with project schedule and priorities

  • Follow up on outstanding items to keep work progressing

Document Control & Communication

  • Manage RFIs, submittals, and project documentation

  • Track and distribute updated plans, specifications, and revisions

  • Maintain organized project files and communication logs

  • Ensure field teams have the most current information

Field Support & Alignment

  • Work closely with superintendents and field crews to support execution

  • Visit jobsites regularly to stay connected to field operations

  • Assist with layout coordination, quantities, and problem-solving

  • Help bridge communication between field and office

Tracking & Reporting

  • Track installed quantities, production, and project progress

  • Assist with daily reports, cost tracking, and forecasting support

  • Identify potential issues early and communicate with the team

Subcontractor & Vendor Coordination

  • Assist with subcontractor coordination and follow-up

  • Track material deliveries, lead times, and procurement status

  • Help ensure subcontractors are aligned with project requirements

Quality & Compliance Support

  • Assist with inspection coordination and documentation

  • Support quality control processes and ensure work aligns with plans and specs

  • Help maintain compliance with project and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with construction software is a plus

Project Manager

Position Type: Full-Time, On-Site
Reports To: Operations Leadership

Aspen Earthworks is seeking a Project Manager to take full ownership of project execution from preconstruction through closeout, with a focus on budget, schedule, and client relationships.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving financial performance, operational alignment, and successful project delivery.

The Project Manager works closely with superintendents, estimators, clients, and subcontractors and is accountable for ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to Aspen’s standard of execution.

Key Responsibilities

Project Ownership & Execution

  • Own the full lifecycle of projects from handoff through closeout

  • Align field operations, schedule, and budget to ensure successful execution

  • Maintain control of project scope, sequencing, and deliverables

  • Drive decision-making to keep projects moving forward

Financial Management & Cost Control

  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost tracking

  • Monitor job cost reports, production, and margin performance

  • Identify risks early and implement corrective actions

  • Manage change orders, billing, and cost recovery

  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly financial reporting

Planning, Scheduling & Coordination

  • Develop and maintain project schedules in coordination with field leadership

  • Lead lookahead planning (2-week and 6-week) with superintendents

  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractors

  • Remove constraints that impact schedule and production

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, general contractors, and key stakeholders

  • Build and maintain strong relationships through consistent communication and follow-through

  • Lead project meetings and ensure alignment across all parties

  • Represent Aspen professionally in all interactions

Contract Management & Documentation

  • Manage contracts, subcontracts, and project documentation

  • Review plans, specifications, and contract requirements

  • Oversee RFIs, submittals, and change management processes

  • Ensure proper documentation for claims, delays, and scope changes

Field Collaboration & Support

  • Work closely with superintendents to align field execution with project strategy

  • Support field teams in problem-solving, logistics, and coordination

  • Ensure field operations have the resources needed to perform efficiently

  • Stay engaged in the field — not just behind a desk

Risk Management

  • Identify project risks related to cost, schedule, safety, and quality

  • Proactively address issues before they impact performance

  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements and regulatory standards

Project Closeout

  • Oversee final billing, retention, and financial reconciliation

  • Ensure completion of punch lists, as-builts, and turnover documentation

  • Deliver clean project closeout with strong client satisfaction

Heavy Equipment Operator (Civil)

Position Type: Full-Time, On-Site
Reports To: Foreman / Superintendent

Aspen Earthworks is seeking Heavy Equipment Operators to support field operations across earthwork, utilities, and site development projects.

This is a hands-on, production-focused role responsible for operating equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining grade, accuracy, and productivity.

Operators work closely with foremen and crews and are expected to take ownership of their machine, their work, and overall jobsite performance.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Operation & Production

  • Operate heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, rollers, and skid steers

  • Perform grading, excavation, trenching, loading, and backfilling

  • Maintain production targets while operating safely and efficiently

  • Adjust work based on site conditions, plans, and direction from foreman

Grade & Precision Work

  • Cut and maintain grade using stakes, GPS, or other control systems

  • Perform finish work with attention to detail and tolerances

  • Work closely with grade checkers and foremen to ensure accuracy

  • Minimize rework through precise operation

Utilities Support

  • Excavate trenches for water, sewer, storm drain, and conduit installation

  • Work around pipe crews safely and efficiently

  • Maintain proper trench conditions and support installation efforts

Equipment Care & Maintenance

  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections

  • Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of assigned equipment

  • Report mechanical issues promptly

  • Operate equipment responsibly to avoid unnecessary wear or damage

Safety

  • Follow all jobsite safety rules and company expectations

  • Maintain awareness of surroundings, personnel, and equipment

  • Work safely around crews, trenches, and active jobsite conditions

  • Participate in daily safety meetings and follow JHA requirements

Team Coordination

  • Communicate clearly with foremen, laborers, and other operators

Civil Foreman

Position Type: Full-Time, On-Site
Reports To: Civil Superintendent

Aspen Earthworks is seeking a Civil Foreman to lead field crews across site development scopes including earthwork, underground utilities, and roadway work.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for daily production, crew performance, and safe execution.

The Civil Foreman works directly with the Superintendent and is accountable for making sure the crew shows up prepared, executes the plan, and hits production targets.

Key Responsibilities

Crew Leadership & Daily Execution

  • Lead and manage field crews performing grading, excavation, and utility installation

  • Set the daily plan and ensure the crew understands scope, priorities, and expectations

  • Keep crews productive, organized, and moving efficiently throughout the day

  • Hold crew members accountable for performance, quality, and safety

Production & Equipment Coordination

  • Execute work to meet production targets for earthwork, utilities, and site development

  • Coordinate operators, laborers, and equipment to maximize efficiency

  • Ensure proper use and care of equipment and tools

  • Adjust crew and workflow as needed to maintain progress

Utilities Installation

  • Oversee installation of wet and dry utilities including water, sewer, storm drain, and conduit

  • Ensure proper trenching, bedding, pipe placement, and backfill

  • Coordinate layout, elevations, slopes, and tie-ins

  • Maintain compliance with plans, specs, and inspection requirements

Quality Control

  • Verify grades, elevations, slopes, and compaction

  • Ensure work is installed correctly the first time

  • Coordinate with Superintendent and inspectors for inspections

  • Minimize rework through attention to detail and clear direction

Safety

  • Lead daily tailgates and JHAs

  • Enforce Aspen’s safety expectations on every task

  • Identify hazards and correct issues immediately

  • Ensure crew is working safely at all times

Communication & Coordination

  • Communicate daily with Superintendent on progress, issues, and needs

  • Coordinate with other crews and trades to avoid conflicts

  • Report delays, material shortages, or field issues early

  • Keep clear, direct communication with the crew at all times

Aspen Earthworks is seeking Civil Construction Laborers to support field crews on site development projects including earthwork, utilities, and roadway work.

This is a hands-on, physically demanding role responsible for supporting daily operations and helping crews stay productive and on schedule.

Laborers work directly with foremen and operators and are expected to show up ready to work, follow direction, and contribute to a safe and efficient jobsite.

Key Responsibilities

General Labor & Site Support

  • Perform general labor tasks to support grading, excavation, and utility crews

  • Assist with trenching, pipe installation, backfilling, and compaction

  • Move materials, tools, and equipment as needed

  • Maintain clean and organized jobsite conditions

Utilities Support

  • Assist with installation of water, sewer, storm drain, and conduit systems

  • Support pipe crews with bedding, alignment, and backfill

  • Follow direction to ensure proper installation and safety practices

Aspen Earthworks is seeking a CDL Driver to support field operations by safely and efficiently hauling materials, equipment, and supplies to and from jobsites.

This is a hands-on role responsible for keeping crews supplied, maintaining equipment, and supporting overall jobsite productivity.

The CDL Driver works closely with foremen and superintendents and is expected to operate with reliability, awareness, and accountability on every load.

Key Responsibilities

Driving & Hauling

  • Safely operate dump trucks, water trucks, or other commercial vehicles as assigned

  • Haul materials such as dirt, aggregate, asphalt, and construction debris

  • Load and unload materials safely and efficiently

  • Follow haul routes, jobsite directions, and production needs

Equipment Operation & Support

  • Assist with loading operations in coordination with operators and crews

  • Operate water trucks for dust control and compaction support (if applicable)

  • Support general jobsite needs when not actively hauling

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all DOT regulations, company policies, and jobsite safety requirements

  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections

  • Immediately report mechanical issues, incidents, or safety concerns

  • Maintain clean and safe operation of assigned equipment

Jobsite Coordination

  • Communicate with foremen and dispatch to stay aligned with production needs
